The developer of SHIDORI, Sankaseiren (山嘉精練) is a silk processing company established in 1970. It has specialized in degumming, dyeing and other additional processing for the silk from all over the world. The family has been famous for a long history of engagement in the Japanese silk industry, since the first generation ancestor Iseki Sorin started to make textile and crest in 1555 at Kyoto. The adventure spirit and the traditional technique have been preserved for more than 450 years in the family. The “Single dying bath” adopted by the company would enable the reproduction of a specific color anytime upon request. The pigments used in coloration would not induce any damages to the fabrics while maintaining a high colorfastness. And the degumming method is also precisely designed to fit with the above processes. Sankaseiren constantly strives for improvement by research and development of new technology. It is the silk expert aspires to enhance and preserve the traditional techniques in the industry.
